Pardon me, inc. Dogs and Cats Rescue
Volunteer (2012 - 2014)
I first began volunteering for Pardon Me, Inc. in middle school. Though I was allergic to dogs and cats, I couldn't stay away from the animal rescue. Getting to know each animal at the rescue was a rewarding experience. Getting to talk to potential responsible pet owners to encourage them to adopt was even more rewarding! I know that my passion for discovering complimenting personalities between dogs and their families helps them find "furever" homes.

Letters of Recommendation

I am an international undergraduate at Yale-NUS College, a joint venture institution in Singapore by Yale University and the National University of Singapore. As a Psychology aficionado by day and legal researcher by night, I am especially passionate about the synergistic intersections of law, positive psychology, and social entrepreneurship. My passions include leading my team's social enterprise, Linens N Love. We are dedicated to sustainability and benefiting the community through donating cast-off hotel linens to animal shelters, women's homes, and children's centers in need.

Raised in California but studying in Singapore, I’ve experienced the eye-opening nature of having one foot planted in the East and one in the West. Living across continents has ignited my passion for multicultural engagement. I am fluent in English, Mandarin, and Spanish, and am learning Russian.

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF AMERICA
SOCIAL ENTERPRISE INTERN
Developed a revamped social media campaign (Instagram: @BGCTeensOC) to increase teen program attendance. Led project to create workshop for College Bound students that provides the tools to create their own club at school and in the community.

My sister Vivian and I founded Linens N Love, a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization, in 2014. Linens N Love reaches out to high end franchise hotels to request donations of blankets, sheets, pillows, and towels with slight imperfections that were otherwise headed for the landfill due to their lack of meeting franchise standards. These donations go to homeless shelters, animal shelters, women's homes, teen outreach centers, and senior homes. To date, we have donated over 15,000 linens.

Linens N Love believes in sustainability and education. We go beyond typical volunteer grunt work and instead empower our student leaders to coordinate their own initiatives through intensive leadership training summits and mentorship. Students are the ones who learn how to network with hotel professionals for donations, decide which shelters they want to reach out to with donations, and coordinate tours. After every delivery, we embark upon a tour of each facility to gain a deeper insight into the community we're benefiting  to ensure that each volunteer hour is meaningful and impactful for the community and our student leaders.

My vision is to donate 100,000 blankets, sheets, pillows, and towels. These are 100,000 linens rescued from landfills, and I believe that this mission will someday extend across the United States and Asia after we launch our desktop app in 2020.
